sure I think among the things that people ask me or or get commented on quite a bit is that I seem to be a natural speaker that I’m rather good at public speaking but that definitely was not always the case and it was a learned ability for me so whether it was the um overcoming the nerves part or the part around body movement or perhaps called The Confident walk I think all of those were um sort of taught skills so it certainly wasn’t something that came naturally to me and I worked extremely difficult I guess to acquire that ability of being able to speak um and I believe something that made a very big impression on me for someone who was late Blue Moon introvert and relative actually shy in my more youthful years was that everybody deserves to speak so to be able to reveal yourself in a way that individuals comprehend I believe was rather important to me and um I think that’s why I worked at the school and hopefully I am far better at it now than I was when I began I would certainly say so um and how did you can you tell us a little bit about how you began in um Financing like why did you choose a profession in financing and what was the the very first point of contact in the financial world was there a parental influence or was this something that you were simply always interested in I would enjoy to state that you understand I always knew what I was going to do and that was Finance but that was not the case at all I can come back when I began working it wasn’t.
uncommon just to fall into your kind of work for me I really wished to be a lawyer from the time I had to do with 7 years of ages but at the time that I went to UNI there were so many lawyers that the joblessness rate with law was so high that you had to do a double degree um so that was sort of five years of a double degree plus an additional year of law school and after that 3 years practicing as a lawyer and I believed oh that sort of sounds like an additional ten years so I actually ended and went up studying company at UTS so um comparable to a Commerce degree um but throughout uni I um I worked at an Italian restaurant and after that I tried to open an Italian restaurant and to do that um I had to secure a loan with a NAB and truly I needed to repay that loan when it didn’t exercise so um I I saw an ad in the paper and it stated do you wish to be a stock broker and I thought oh yeah that sounds respectable yeah we’ll give it a go we’re here we go and um you understand I was lucky in that sense since I I do like the work I enjoy having the ability to comprehend businesses and to work in a market where you’re continuously having the ability to maintain to date with what’s taking place worldwide what’s happening in regards to developments in technology or biotechnology and science I believe is an amazing thing so I like to read it and I never have a shortage of stories to read when it comes to the marketplaces yeah great and between shift from oh I might wish to be a stock broker how did you become say inequities investment strategist how did that occur um was there.

organization environments too so um yeah it’s been a a long journey but one I I have actually certainly um taken pleasure in so I have actually gone from presenting um things like essential analysis technical analysis tax effective investing alternatives to directing an essential analysis unit where I got to take a trip a lot to the US and after that I relocated to Bell direct where I was Equity strategist there for 11 years and then relocated to do my own funds management organization birming invests which I sold in June and now here I am at State Street Global equities and advisors strategists for the ETF area well amazing um throughout that period when you discussed um the two to 3 years of discovering how did you find that your confidence was at first versus after the three years and how did you find um the resources to uh educate yourself like nowadays we have podcasts um I’m sure like prior to then we didn’t have too many resources readily available as we do now and was it through books or uni.
